Welcome to the DXtreme Station Log 15 Tour

Hi! I'm Bob, NE1I, your DXtreme Station Log 15™ tour guide!

Thanks to everyone who wrote over the past year asking whether my Dark-eyed Junco friend returned from Québec last winter.

For those unaware, four years ago, right after repairing my 40-meter full-wave loop that a nasty Nor’easter had broken, a Dark-eyed Junco flew into DXtreme Software headquarters as I carried my tools inside, stopping to perch upon my shoulder. Thrilled, XYL Eileen grabbed her camera and documented the event.

Well, did he return?

I think so.

Because for the past three winters, whether I left my radio-room window open a crack or not, oftentimes there was this little Junco flittering about on my 450-ohm transmission line.... He was climbing, really, in and out of the rectangles formed by the black polyethylene, stopping briefly to look inside the shack, as if to ask, "How's DX, mon ami?"

Each visit was a bright spot in my day.

Onward!
